KMA Human Resources Consulting is sponsoring the “Kids Fun Run” portion of the race as part of OutRUN 38’s fundraising efforts in support of The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

KMA founder Kim Anania’s best friend, Liz Shuman, was diagnosed at age 8 with Cystic Fibrosis. At the time of Liz’s diagnosis, the life expectancy of children with CF was 12 years. Life expectancy is now 38 years  . . . and growing. Liz celebrates her 38th birthday on September 6, 2014.

KMA is challenging people in Maine and throughout New England to take up running or some other form of physical fitness to raise funds for this important cause by getting sponsors and either participating in the August 2 event or submitting their miles online as part of a worldwide effort by individuals and teams to spread the word in support of “Team Liz.”

Runners can log their miles daily at http://www.outrun38.org/miles-submission-page.html and can vote for Liz and her friend Nicole Burke to be on the cover of Runner’s World.

Event-day registration for the race and the Family Fun Run starts at 8:00 am. The Fun Run begins at 8:45 am at “The Lawn” at First Congregational Church at 26 Meeting House Lane, Madison, and the 5K Race begins at 9:15 am.
