KMA is again pleased to be a sponsor of the “Best Places to Work in Maine” program, which is in its 10th year.

Best Places to Work in Maine is a survey and recognition program that identifies and recognizes Maine’s best employers through a survey of company employee benefits and policies, plus responses from a comprehensive employee engagement and satisfaction survey.

KMA is proud to work with a number of companies previously cited as among Maine’s best places to work. These companies typically embrace Human Resources as being critical to their success, and they recognize the importance of being name a premier employer, which can:

  • Boost their ability to retain and recruit top talent
  • Build employee morale, productivity, and engagement.
  • Enhance their reputations with consumers who see it as a sign of quality.

The Best Places to Work in Maine process is managed by Best Companies Group, an independent research firm specializing in identifying and recognizing great places to work. The list of winners are published in Mainebiz and will be celebrated at an event in October 2015.

How it Works

Employers must apply to participate by May 22, 2015 online at www.bestplacestoworkme.com.

To be eligible to participate, businesses must:

  • Have 15+ employees working in Maine
  • Have a facility in Maine
  • Must be in business a minimum of 1 year
  • Be a publicly or privately held business
  • Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity.

There is a fee to participate in the program, based on employer size, and it covers the cost of conducting the survey and creating an “Employee Feedback Report” that all program participants get.

Results from the survey determine whether an employer makes the list or not.

Each participating company gets a copy of the “Employee Feedback Report,” whether it makes the “Best Places” list or not. This report includes summarized employee engagement and satisfaction data, the Maine Benchmark Report, and a transcript of employee written comments. Many companies find this information useful for making improvements in their workplace culture.
