KMA is again pleased to be a sponsor of the “Best Places to Work in Maine”  program.

BPTW-2017Best Places to Work in Maine identifies and recognizes Maine’s best employers through a survey of company employee benefits and policies, plus responses from a comprehensive employee engagement and satisfaction survey.

KMA is proud to work with a number of companies previously cited as among Maine’s best places to work. These companies typically embrace Human Resources as being critical to their success, and they recognize the importance of being named a premier employer, which can:

  • Boost a company’s ability to retain and recruit top talent.
  • Build employee morale, productivity, and engagement.
  • Enhance a company’s reputation with consumers who see it as a sign of quality.

The Best Places to Work in Maine process is managed by Best Companies Group, an independent research firm specializing in identifying and recognizing great places to work, and is endorsed by the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, the Maine Department of Labor, the Department of Economic and Community Development, Maine HR Convention, and Mainebiz.

The list of winners will be published in Mainebiz and will be celebrated at an event at the Augusta Civic Center on October 10.

Any company with at least 15 employees in the state of Maine is encouraged to participate. If you would like to explore how your company might benefit from participating in this year’s Best Places to Work program, contact KMA to discuss.

How it Works

Employers must apply to participate by May 26, 2017 online at www.bestplacestoworkme.com.

To be eligible to participate, businesses must:

  • Have 15+ employees working in Maine (see eligibility requirements at bestplacestoworkme.com for full information)
  • Have a facility in Maine
  • Must be in business a minimum of 1 year
  • Be a publicly or privately held business
  • Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity.

There is a fee to participate in the program, based on employer size, and it covers the cost of conducting the survey and creating an “Employee Feedback Report” that all program participants receive.

Results from the survey determine whether an employer makes the list or not.

Each participating company gets a copy of the “Employee Feedback Report,” whether they make the “Best Places” list or not. The report includes a summary of the company’s employee engagement and satisfaction data, the Maine Benchmark Report, and a transcript of written employee comments. Many companies find this information useful for making improvements in their workplace culture.
