KMA was pleased to help WCSH6 reporter Jessica Gagne with a report on overcoming conflict in the workplace, especially timely given today’s local and national political climates which tend to showcase public conflicts on a regular basis.
“Handling conflict in a public forum is never a good idea,” says KMA’s Kristen Kellner, who joined the WCSH6 team to tape the segment at Sebago Brewing (thanks to Sebago for making the space available!). “People should try to solve their conflicts face- to-face, or involve one other person to help them get to some common ground.”
She says that “being accusatory won’t get anything solved, but building relationships will. Taking a ‘coaching’ approach to dealing with conflict between colleagues or in the workplace can be the perfect cure-all.”
