For the fifth year in a row, KMA is pleased to be a sponsor of the “Best Places to Work in Maine” program.
Best Places to Work in Maine identifies and recognizes Maine’s best employers through a survey of company employee benefits and policies, plus employee responses to a comprehensive engagement and satisfaction survey.
KMA is proud to work with a number of companies previously cited as among Maine’s best places to work. These companies typically embrace Human Resources as being critical to their success, and they recognize the importance of being named a premier employer, which can:
- Boost their ability to retain and recruit top talent.
- Build employee morale, productivity, and engagement.
- Enhance their reputation with consumers who see it as a sign of quality and corporate social responsibility.
The Best Places to Work in Maine process is managed by Best Companies Group, an independent research firm specializing in identifying and recognizing great places to work, and is brought to you by the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, the Maine Department of Labor, the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development, Maine HR Convention, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Maine State Council, and Mainebiz.
The list of winners will be published in Mainebiz and will be celebrated at an event in October 2018.
How it Works
Employers must apply to participate by May 25, 2018 (for more information on the application process, visit www.bestplacestoworkme.com).
To be eligible to participate, employers must:
- Have a minimum of 15 full- or part-time permanent employees working in the state of Maine (see eligibility requirements at bestplacestoworkme.com for full information)
- Have a facility in Maine
- Must be in business a minimum of 1 year
- Be a publicly or privately held business
- Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity.
There is a fee to participate in the program, based on employer size, and it covers the cost of conducting the survey and creating an “Employee Feedback Report” that all program participants receive.
Results from the survey determine whether an employer makes the list or not.
Each participating company gets a copy of the “Employee Feedback Report,” whether they make the “Best Places” list or not. This report includes the results of the company’s employee survey, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of their workplace according to what their employees had to say. Many companies find this information useful for making improvements in their workplace culture.
