City of Portland Minimum Wage Increase, Effective July 1, 2019

Beginning July 1, 2019, the minimum wage in Portland, Maine, will increase to $11.11 per hour which exceeds the state of Maine minimum wage of $11.00 per hour. The direct wage owed to tipped workers must be at least $5.50 per hour.

Employers who have a place of business in the City of Portland must pay every employee who performs work for the employer within the municipal limits of the City this new minimum wage of $11.11 per hour.
