What have you learned about the responsibilities of leadership during a time of crisis?

“I am an optimist. And despite living through numerous crises, tragedies, and losses in my life, those challenging experiences have prepared me to respond compassionately, calmly, and with the authority necessary to be a leader in times of uncertainty and tumult. I’ve learned that people in my orbit who are facing danger, feeling distress or fear, often turn to me for comfort, guidance, or just a smile. I’m humbled that people trust me; I don’t take that for granted.”
