Kara Kitchen Joins KMA’s Recruiting Team

Kara Kitchen brings more than 10 years of experience in recruiting to the KMA team. She has successfully recruited top talent for accounting, sales, customer service, creative and marketing industries, as well as various roles in transportation (DOT).

“I love being able to contribute to someone’s career and make a positive impact on his or her life,” she says. “Connecting clients to candidates is extremely rewarding to me, and I truly appreciate KMA’s approach of providing a collaborative hiring process that emphasizes robust communication in all directions.”

Kara earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Maine, Orono.

When not traveling, Kara enjoys spending time outdoors and planning for the next adventure with family and friends.

Kate Rogers Joins KMA as Recruitment Operations Specialist

Kate Rogers has more than 15 years of project management and customer satisfaction experience. She has managed projects, programs, and people in a wide variety of roles and has worked in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations across a range of industries, including health care, education, retail, and marketing.

“I’ve always been drawn to the relationship between employees and an organization’s ability to meet its goals,” Kate explains. “Having the right people in the right positions is critical, and I love helping organizations develop and execute a strategy to get there. As part of the KMA team, I’m passionate about helping our clients find the right talent to move their organizations forward.”

Kate earned a Bachelor’s degree in American Civilization from Brown University, and an MBA from Boston University with concentrations in Leadership and Organizational Transformation as well as Public and Non-Profit Management.

An outdoor enthusiast, Kate enjoys spending time on Maine’s beaches and mountains, as well as indoors cooking and reading.

Christie DeMichael Joins KMA’s Team of HR Consultants

Christie DeMichael has more than 30 years of experience in Human Resources, both nationally and internationally. In her leadership roles in the banking, biotech and semi-conductor industries, she developed expertise across multiple HR disciplines including strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, leadership alignment, talent assessment, coaching, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, change management, compensation, diversity, performance management, employee relations, and general human resource practices.

“Throughout my career in HR, I’ve had the opportunity to form great partnerships with leaders working to grow their business by creating environments where employees are respected, valued and inspired,” she explains. “KMA supports those beliefs and provides the expertise and resources I can draw upon and offer to businesses as they face complex challenges in this ever-changing world.”

Christie has a BS from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA, and certificates from ABA’s Graduate School of Human Resources.

She is married with two children and one granddaughter. She is a lifelong skier and sailor, who also enjoys golf, pickleball, and playing her violin in “Fiddle-icious,” Maine’s largest fiddle orchestra.

Jeff Hughes Joins KMA as an HR Consultant

Jeff Hughes has more than 25 years of diversified HR leadership, spanning management of corporate legal affairs, mergers and acquisitions, risk management, cost reduction, policy deployment, labor relations, recruitment, compensation, and benefits plan design.

“In my experience as a Senior Leadership Team Member for organizations around the world, I believe the work done by Human Resources today has never been more important and impactful on business, Jeff says. “Whether the economy is in expansion or contraction mode, the demands on HR to execute on key business strategies is mission critical to the long-term viability of any organization. Understanding the economic drivers of an enterprise is critical. Being able to build highly effective relationships that move quickly from rapport to confidence and on to trust with a client is a differentiator.”

Prior to joining KMA, he supported the aerospace sector, working with manufacturers and suppliers.

Jeff holds a BS in HRM as well as an MBA from American International College. In addition, Jeff holds certifications in coaching, organizational design, and labor and industrial relations.

He enjoys anything active in nature, be it downhill skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking or hiking, and at one point was the top amateur body builder in Connecticut.
